Northwest Valley Connect receives BHHS Legacy Foundation grant to fund Encore Fellow
West Valley, AZ Northwest Valley Connect (NVC) is pleased to announce that is has been selected to receive a $60,000 grant from BHHS Legacy Foundation which is an Arizona charitable organization whose philanthropic mission is to enhance the quality of life and health of those it serves. This grant will support an Encore Fellow’s work in developing a fundraising plan.
An Encore Fellow is a highly skilled and experienced professional who is looking to transition from the for-profit sector to working with nonprofit organizations in need of talent. Northwest Valley Connect, in collaboration with Experience Matters Consortium, will work together to find an ideal candidate for this position.
Once selected, the Encore Fellow will work with NVC for one year to implement a fundraising campaign to raise money for NVC’s various programs, including the RideConnect volunteer driver program and the Call-Click-Connect mobility call center. Focus will also be spent on the development of a marketing plan to further increase awareness of transportation services available to seniors in need.
NVC Executive Director, Kathy Chandler, says the goal of this yearlong position will be to make the organization more financially sustainable. “With a professional taking charge and focusing solely on marketing and fundraising, we can find stability,” she says. “Ultimately, we can connect more seniors with more rides.”
