“We desperately need the services of Northwest Valley Connect here in the West Valley,” said Sun City West resident Barbara Chambers. “We’re out in the boonies here when it comes to transportation and for those of us who no longer drive, the need is critical if we’re going to stay in our homes and maintain our independence.”

“I used to drive my friends and neighbors wherever they needed to go and many have returned the favor up to a point,” said Barbara, “but my needs have become so great that I have to have a more professional resource to get my transportation. So, I called Northwest Valley Connect after reading about them in the newspaper and they have “connected” me with the transportation I need.”

Barbara was referred to Valley Metro where she has learned how to qualify for the Dial-A- Ride program. “They picked me up in a wheelchair accessible van and transported me downtown for my evaluation,” added Barbara. “They couldn’t have been nicer as they processed and approved my application and awarded me my new ADA status. I begin my Dial-a- Ride service next week. How’s that for taking all the anxiety out of a most stressful situation!”

Barbara is breathing a lot easier these days now that her transportation issues have been solved. I’ve lived in Sun City West since 1999 and love my life here,” said Barbara. “I have health issues like a lot of us do that prevent me from driving but, with my new transportation arrangements, I can settle in and continue to enjoy my life in this wonderful community. “I have a deep faith,” added Barbara, and I’ve always believed that the Good Lord is not going to give me any more than I can handle. It appears that He has responded once again to my needs with a most workable solution. I’m very grateful!”
