West Valley, AZ Northwest Valley Connect (NVC) is pleased to introduce our new Encore Fellow Tom Bashwiner! NVC received a grant from BHHS Legacy Foundation in order to partner with Experience Matters to engage an Encore Fellow that best fit NVC’s need for a Fundraising Strategist. Experience Matters is an organization that “Connects the skills and talents of experienced adults with the diverse needs of nonprofit organizations to build a stronger, more vibrant community.” Encore Fellows bring years of experience and a wealth of knowledge and skills into their assignments—selected and trained to have a significant, positive impact on an organization’s mission. Tom will be working with NVC for the next year developing and building out a sustainable fundraising plan.
Welcome Tom Bashwiner!
Tom has enjoyed a career that spans 30+ years in professional fundraising earning his coveted Philanthropy Fellow designation in 1991 as a life-long member of the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy. He has worked chiefly as a Foundation CEO for various hospital systems across the country, responsible for recruiting and training Board members and initiating all phases of a comprehensive development program with a special emphasis in charitable estate planning. Tom’s most recent accomplishments were designing a two-city development program for Spokane-based Daybreak Youth Services and implementing a new planned/gift planning program for Fort Vancouver National Trust in Vancouver, WA. He relocated to Arizona from Washington state two years ago.
